ESTEBAN CRUZ AVILA

Tahiti Project Description
The Tahiti Topsides facility was a truss spar in production mode and was comprised of all major processing equipment, export facilities, utilities and living quarters to support the Tahiti development.
This facility was capable of producing 125,000 BOPD oil and 70 MMCFPD gas while treating 100,000
BWPD of Produced water.
The Tahiti Topside is located 190 miles (306 km) south of New Orleans, in the Green Canyon Area, in approximately 4000 feet of water (1219 meters). The topside is held in place by 13 mooring lines.
In order to enhance reservoir management efforts, Chevron decided to install a Water Injection Module (WIM), onto the existing Topside. The weight of the WIM was +/- 1250 s.t. (1134 ton).
Saipem’s (SAI) scope of work for this contract was for the transportation and installation activities of the WIM.
The vessel that was nominated to perform the installation of the WIM was the Saipem 7000 (S7000); and for transportation, a 250’ Class Jones Act barge
