Ethylene & Oxide Plant Expansion    Project Description
 

Pemex Petroquímica (PPQ) expanded the production capacity of its ethylene plant to 50% in the Morelos Petrochemical Complex, located in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico.

To carry out this project, PPQ, through the Direction Corporate of Engineering and Project Development (DCIDP), published in the Official Gazette the International Public Tender number 18572039-003-08.

Through this tender Swecomex achieves the award of the public works contract, consisting of the engineering, procurement, and construction of the expansion of the ethylene plant, in its second stage, in the Morelos Complex, managing to increase the production capacity of ethylene from 600,000 annual tons to 900,000 annual tons to be ready; on April 2011.

The first stage consisted of the development of the basic and detailed engineering of the expansion works of the ethylene plant, the raw material that is used for the production of polyethylene, dichlorobenzene, acetaldehyde, ethyl chloride, ethylene oxide, perchloroethylene, monoethylene glycol, and diethylene glycol
